Choose a factory finish or a door you can finish to suit your home.

What does prefinished mean?
A prefinished door arrives with a factory-applied finish. This gives you a useful starting point when coordinating doors throughout a home and reduces the finishing work required on site. It still needs careful handling and fitting; any areas altered during installation may need resealing according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Why choose an unfinished door?
An unfinished oak door needs an appropriate protective finish before it is put into service. It can suit a project where you want to choose the final appearance. Confirm which finishing products are approved for the particular door before buying them, and factor materials, preparation and labour into the total cost.
White primed is a different option
A white-primed door has a preparation coat and normally requires its final decorative finish. It should not be treated as a fully finished white door unless the product description explicitly says so. Read the finish listed for each option, particularly when several finishes share the same door design.
Protect the whole door
Follow the manufacturer’s care instructions for all faces, edges and any cut-outs. Deanta’s guidance requires altered areas to be resealed and gives specific finishing instructions for unfinished doors. Keep doors in appropriate conditions before installation, and check the finish and fitting requirements with your installer. Oak veneer is natural, so grain and colour can differ between doors.
